What light through yonder window breaks? Yes yes yes, I am quoting from the world famous ‘Romeo and Juliet.’ A wonderful story it is, but deadly difficult to understand. So, as always, I decide to take the easy way out :3 I bought a book titled “No Fear Shakesphere: Romeo and Juliet.” The book basically has the script on the left side and on the right hand side is a modern English translation. (Thank you Spark Notes?). I really really REALLY think that Shakespeare was on some kind of medication while he was writing this story. Psh. It’s so dramatic it’s unreal (: Too bad it sort of is real. Read this small paragraph:
They were right when they said there’s no such thing as an original story. Some critics complained the famous 1961 movie “West Side Story” stole its plot from “Romeo and Juliet.” But “borrowing” stories is nothing new. Shakespeare based “Romeo and Juliet” on a long, boring poem by Arthur Brooke called “The Tragical Historie of Romeus and Juliet.” But Brooke’s poem was based on a French story by Pierre Boaistrau, and this story was taken from Italian writer Matteo Bandellom, whose story is supposedly a true account from the 11th century. And this chain continues back all the way to a Greek story from around the year 400 A.D.
Goes to show you stories aren’t original o__o.
Well as we’re learning about Romeo and Juliet, we’re also watching it (the Leonardo Decaprio version) and also acting it out here and there. In my opinion, Romeo is a horndog -3-. I mean, he meets Juliet and just starts kissing her. Ever dare to ask if she’s single? Seriously, if it was in our modern times, and if Juliet was married, oh boy. (: The movie of Romeo and Juliet is absolutely hilarious. There’s this guy dressed up as a woman in the beginning. I don’t know, I was pretty much half awake C:
I mentioned that we had to act it out here and there. Well guess who’s Juliet? Psh duh, me. I was sleeping and the Blond Lady (that’s what I call my English teacher) decides to tick me off by giving me a part that no one wants. HA. Thanks Blond Lady, I owe you one. OH MY GOD!!! WE’RE ALSO LEARNING ABOUT ROMEO AND JULIET!!! but we have to make it more modern and act it out…i made my romeo and juliet meet in the supermarket…so original…
I hate acting. Not one of my specialties.. We haven’t done anything with Romeo and Juliet yet, but I think we are next year. I bet it will be super fun!

Yeah, we did this thing in English. There’s so many things everywhere proving Shakespeare copied all of his stories from elsewhere but it’s not the story that’s he’s famous for – it’s the way he words it! (yes, I listened in an english lesson. Go me!)

I loved reading Romeo and Juliet last year. It was easy for me to understand because my teacher stopped every 6 or so lines explaining everything, and plus in the book we read it from it had a side ‘gloss’ which basically explained everything so that the average, un-modern speaking individual could understand lol.
I, thought it was unreal at first. But then I realized, we can’t say unless we know for sure that love makes you do some crazy things. Since I believe that I’m “in love” I can relate to the story a little more. But gosh, they could have waited a few days rather than 24 hours to do all what they did. Maybe they would have lived too!
I saw thast many persons click the ads their selfs…but I’m going to look in CPanel for ip’s and then I’ll see if they click theirselfs or their visitors.

Ahh, Romeo and Juliet! It drives me up the wall. We had to study it last year and psh.
I’m not a big Shakespeare fan, and I thought the play was raaaaather strange. And the movie version with DiCaprio? ugh, I don’t like him so it kind of ruined it for me. :p
I suppose it’s not entirely unrealistic, and there are probably people out there who would do something similar to Romeo and Juliet, but, I don’t know, I just couldn’t find it overly romantic!
